Unhealthy behaviors are sins in God’s eyes

It amazes me that someone can believe that if your nature is predisposed to behave one way or another, the jump of logic is that since God created you, it must be right. Just as the doctor told me to lay off greasy hamburgers and rich ice cream or my cholesterol is going to keep climbing through the roof, I guess I should have told him, sorry, God created me to like these things, so it must be good.

This logic is absurd. We all have behaviors that are unhealthy or wrong and we must choose whether to follow our feelings or behave to the contrary.

Doing what is right boils down to what is truth. Lifting half a Scripture that “man shall not be alone” and making it God’s final word is nonsense. God clearly states homosexuality is wrong in the Old and New testaments. Homosexuality, by God’s definition, is a sinful behavior, not one’s predisposition.

Christians do need to welcome into their fellowship the homosexual since the church is not a house for the righteous but a hospital for the sinner. Yes, we all sin, even the Christian, which is why we all need a savior. As we come to church we should come and be welcomed as we are, but we should not leave as we came.

It is the clergy’s duty to take a stand for truth, which is declaring what is sin. But the beauty of that message is that is does not end there. The church’s good news is that a cure exists, that hope is still available, and that Christ can transform lives here and now and for eternity, too.

According to this line of thinking church goers should eliminate all risky and unhealthy actions and food by the time we exit a church. Definitive homosexuality does not pursue harming anyone. It would definitely be helpful if Bible beaters against homosexuality would specify a Bible verse definitively describing homosexuality without other issues such as violence and nonconsensual behavior.
